About
A simple local AVIF to JPG converter.
What this site does
avif to jpg converts images locally in your browser. Files are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
It supports batch conversion, basic resize options (Width/Height/Fit), and ZIP download for convenience.
How local conversion works
Your browser decodes the input image, draws it to an offscreen canvas, and then re-encodes it as JPG/JPEG based on your settings. Web Workers are used to keep the interface responsive during batch conversion.
Because processing is local, conversion speed depends on your device and browser. Larger images and big batches may take longer, but your files never leave your computer.
Features and limitations
- Batch convert multiple files at once and download individual JPGs or one ZIP.
- Adjust JPG quality and optional resize (Width/Height/Fit) with a “Don’t upscale” toggle.
- Transparency is flattened because JPG does not support an alpha channel.
- Metadata (like EXIF) is not guaranteed to be preserved because outputs are newly encoded images.
- AVIF decoding support depends on your browser version and platform.
